Miracles?

The word MIRACLE gathers a lot of attention when someone says it. It brings about interest because of the meaning behind it.
        According to Websters, "MIRACLE" is

1 : an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs
2 : an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment

Somewhere around 1965 or 66 my mother her 3 kids and a friend and her 3 kids, decided to go from Strathmore, CA to Bakersfield, CA in an old 55 FORD with only a few dollars between all of us. We were going to a church convention. 2 women and 6 kids on a highway, back then there was nothing for 50 miles, driving a car that would hardly run and we had no spare tire in case we had a flat........OPS, that is just what happened. About halfway there we had a flat. Now remember this was in the 60's and the road between Porterville and Bakersville was not well traveled. Well we all piled out of the car and had no idea what we were going to do. Momma and her friend began to pray.
Just about that time a NEWER Cadillac pulled around the corner and immediately pulled in behind us. The older man got out of his car, looked at the mess we were in, went to the trunk of his CADILLAC, (did I mention it was rather new), pulled out a wheel and tire that fit our OLD FORD, put it on, got back in his NEW CADILLAC, turned around and went back in the direction he came from........We all thought God had sent an angel. I would say so....... I am sure you all have similar stories.

The Bible is full of examples of Miracles.....

  •      Blind man healed from MUD (SPIT and DIRT) put into his eyes and made to wash and he could see.
  •      Woman with issue of blood just touches the border of Christ's robe and she was healed.
  •      Water coming from a rock
  •       Bread falling from the sky
  •       5000 men (not counting women and children) fed with 5 loaves and 2 fishes (and 12 baskets      left over - I am sure Jesus made sure His 12 disciples had some also).

I could go on but you get the point. The Bible was always telling of  miracles because that is God's nature.

His Word is full of promises to those who believe, have faith, ask, seek without doubting, etc.

I would say this falls into ....
#2- an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment

#1-an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.
There are 2 examples of this sort of MIRACLE. The first is the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Think about it......

GOD- Creator of all things, the Beginning and the End, First and the Last, Alpha-Omega. This same GOD put upon Himself the flesh of mankind, through a VIRGIN, lowered Himself to be born a baby in the lowest of existence, lived as a Nazarene, in a world that not only did not want Him but refused to accept Him in any way.

#1-an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.

I would say that pretty well covers this event.

I thank GOD for His love that caused Him to love us so much that He came from the splendor of HEAVEN to be our REDEEMER.

If you are reading this and have found you are not really giving thanks to Him for His sacrifice this holiday season.....STOP and spend time telling Him from your heart of your appreciation for his love and willingness to suffer as a mortal, give His life for our sins, and die a sinner's death.

       Remember
I mentioned there were two examples of this sort of MIRACLE.....

#2 would be that He not only died for our sins but He came forth from the grave victorious over DEATH, HELL and the GRAVE. He conquered everything that sin put on us in the GARDEN. We now can have the same victory only through His promise of His Holy Spirit. This he will give when you ask Him for forgiveness, are baptized in His NAME and He will then give you the MIRACLE of filling you with His SPIRIT.

You should send the story of your Mom and the flat tire to Guideposts Magazine. They print an article called "Mysterious Ways (more than coincidence)," in each issue. You can send it to mw@guideposts.com.
