POWER in a WORD

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart........

How many times have you heard someone say "Well it is what the Word said"?
A single word said irresponsibly can have a negative outcome that can damage a soul forever.

Jeremiah 23:29
Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Learning to use the "WORD OF GOD" in a positive manner and in the power of the Holy Spirit will receive a more positive outcome than trying to use it like a hammer.  His word can either bring life or destroy it.

John 11:41-44
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.  And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”  And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

We have the story in John of the death of Lazarus of Bethany.  Jesus was dealing with the believing and the unbelief that Mary and Martha, along with some of the disciples, were trying to work out among themselves.  Jesus knowing, that He is the WORD, could bring Lazarus back to life by just speaking it.  I believe that when He called Lazarus to come forth, He knew that if He did not not clearly identify who He was directing His attention to, all of the dead would have come forth. What power just in the WORD.....a positive!

Matthew 21:18-22 (NKJV)
Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry.  And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said (His Word) to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.”  Immediately the fig tree withered away.
And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?”
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”  This is where faith in his word and that it has ALL power gives you a positive outcome to all of your issues.

Matt. 14:25-33
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.  And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.  But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
Then those who were in the boat came and  worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

It is amazing that all it took was one word to make things happen. "COME".
It must have made an indelible impression on Peter. With the wind, waves and the fact he had to "Come down out of the boat" tells me he had to make a effort to get to Jesus. He actually did walk on the water, but it says he began to look around and see all the "STUFF" going on and he began to sink.
In desperation he cries out to Him "Lord save me" only because his original belief in Jesus Word wavered. What makes this story so wonderful, is not that Peter walked on the water, but that Jesus loved him so much he caught him by the hand and delivered him from disaster.

Words.....said in Faith can do anything.......What we have to do is JUST BELIEVE and act on it

John 14:12-14
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

What a great promise that has been given to us.  We are responsible to keep our lives holy before Him.  The only way to do that is to make our lives a LIVING sacrifice unto Him.  Our heart must be clean of all evil unto GOD.

Luke 6:45 (NKJV)

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

If our heart is not continually covered with prayer, fasting and the reading of His WORD, we are trying to fight this fight without the Holy Spirit.
Not possible!

         He is our hope.

The last words recorded in the Bible from Jesus will have the most amazing power to them.

Rev. 22:17-20

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

"SURELY I COME QUICKLY AND EVEN SO, COME, LORD JESUS.   AMEN AND AMEN!
