When you ask.....be ready

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  Matt. 7:7

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matt. 21:22

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:14

We are pretty good at throwing these scriptures out and many more when needing an answer to any and all our requests......but it is another story when we get HIS answer....

We have been in the mist of trying to make some good decisions about the new year and had a couple of things that we needed an answer from GOD. So, as good Christians, we begin to ask Him for an answer. Now this isn't our first rodeo, and we know how hard headed and willful we have been in the past, so we ask for Him to answer VERY LOUD AND CLEAR so we don't miss the answer.

Good thought, but you need to make sure you ready for the answer. It may not be the one you had in mind.

For those of you that have kids you can relate and to those of you that have not had kids to ask this from you, think back to when you were a child and had to deal with this through your parents.

How many times have your kids ask a favor or wanted something REALLY bad and your response was...."LET ME THINK ABOUT IT".
Well it ended up as a "NO" answer.
         Straight answer, short and sweet!
Well they ask again and the answer is still "NO". The next comment to come out of their mouth is "When are you going to give me an answer". The answer was no, but they were looking for the "YES"

Do we do the same thing with GOD?

LORD, we have this favor, want, need, etc and we ask for your will. Whatever your will is we will do.....NO comes the answer........Wait.....let's talk about this somemore, maybe you didn't understand how much I want this or how bad I need this......NO! is still the answer

Well we got our answer......VERY LOUD AND VERY CLEAR ON BOTH ISSUE'S.

Now comes the long face.........the sadness and the questions......."You really didn't understand"!

Just when you get "Your mistreated face on" He sends someone around to give you a word of encouragement.
The word was "When one door closes, he always has another one to open", it will be the BEST. GOD never does anything below 100% perfect.......

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21

Thank God that He protects us from ourselves.......AMEN

His answer is always the right answer because he sees around the bend or over the hill and knows what's ahead.

Jerry has always said if the answer is "No" now, there is a better "Yes" down the road. Over the years, I have found this to be so true.
